Patricia St-Pierre

in a nutshell

Difficult things take a long time to achieve, and impossible things just take a little longer to accomplish.

‍

Anything worth doing is worth doing well. I'm a bit of a perfectionist—almost to a fault—and I'm hyperactive… I find rest in being active!

‍

You'll get along well with me if:

  • You enjoy team sports and physical activity in general
  • You are someone who is passionate about your work
  • You are kind to animals

‍

I have a particular interest in:

  • all types of sports injuries
  • issues related to concussions (TCCL)

What has your career path been like?

I always knew I wanted to work in healthcare; for a long time, I thought about becoming a veterinarian because I love animals. Then, when I was 17, I decided to pursue physical therapy, which allowed me to combine my passion for the medical field with my passion for sports.

Continuing education?
  • I completed training in manual therapy up to the E3V3 level (in the 1990s). I also completed training in sports traumatology and sports taping (I spent 20 years working on the field with soccer teams). I have completed training as a soccer first responder as well as both levels of training for TCCL. I am also certified to order X-rays and to treat TMJ disorders. There are many others, but these are the most important ones.
What do you find most rewarding about your job?

My greatest satisfaction comes from helping people get back to their normal lives and physical activities, whatever those may be. I myself have often been sidelined by injuries, so I understand very well the frustration that comes with it.

What sports do you play?

Hiking, running, biking, cross-country skiing… but my favorite sport is flag football, which I played for 32 years (and still play a few times a year just for fun).

Have you ever been injured?

Yes, many times, and on just about every part of my body! It taught me to be patient and that, with a lot of perseverance and effort, you can make an incredible recovery! The body is an amazing machine!

Three funny facts about you

-I have an identical twin who lives in the city where I work… and who is often approached by my patients… who tell her about their little aches and pains!

‍

-I coached my two sons in soccer… they followed in their mother’s footsteps rather than their father’s (who rode motocross—even worse for injuries!)

‍

-I met my partner while treating him for a double ankle fracture… that happened during a motocross race!
